Job Description
As a Key Account -/ Business Development Manager you are responsible for developing your own customer base through successful acquisition in the following focus areas;
Automotive, Consumer Products and/or Home and Building Automation.
The combination of your sales skills, technical background and your extensive knowledge of these market segments, enables you to open new markets and create new key accounts. Together with other members of the sales team and program organization you create an account planning process in line with the long term ambition of Applied Technologies to grow on the third market. You own the virtual relationship and responsability between the customer and the internal Apptech team. This responsability reaches as far as ownership on content, process and bottom line P&L. You purchase the required capacity internally. You act as the Primus Interparis for the internal team of technical project managers and the external key accounts. Together with the internal team you build value propositions and quotations and you are in charge of the longterm negotiations and deal closing.
Requirements
- You have a technical master degree or related and 10 years of relevant work experience. MBA is a pre
- In addition you are a strong negotiator who is able to close the deal and can work with challenging sales targets
- You are able to gain trust, create strong relationships and you can motivate your colleagues to excel
- You are fluent in English and you are willing to travel up to 30% (Europe).
Furthermore:
- You have an existing network in the Automotive, Consumer Products and/or Home and Building Automation is required.
- You have a proven track record in generating new business and developing new key accounts
- You understand consumer product markets and the short lifecycles and business dynamics of a Business-to-Consumer environment
- You know what it takes for a company to be successful in this market
- You have the ability to balance customer needs/requirements with a financially successful business proposition
