Industry Consulting, a department within Philips Apptech, is a dynamic group of around 50 consultants who provide support in the areas of Business Engineering, Product Innovation and Industrial Engineering. The group’s Business Engineering capabilities include expertise in the fields of Supply Chain Management, Business Engineering, Financial Engineering, Outsourcing and Industrialization.

Its customers are external international companies as well as internal Philips businesses. The Business Engineering group is looking for a Senior Consultant Supply Chain & Industry.

Job Description

As a Senior Consultant Supply Chain & Industry you are responsible for generating profitable turnover through the acquisition of complex projects from internal and external customers, primarily in the manufacturing sector. You act as a sparring partner at (senior) executive and managerial levels, while understanding operational issues, translating business needs and opportunities into specific solutions that bring true value to the customer. You assume overall responsibility for several projects simultaneously, project implementation, and the achievement of sustainable results.

The challenges are found within the manufacturing industry and include Design for Manufacturing, Design for Logistics, make-or-buy decisions, industrial / manufacturing strategy development, industrial foot-printing, re-location issues, outsourcing (OEM, ODM), all as integral elements of supporting business executive management. You also play a vital role in expanding the Business Engineering group’s expertise by keeping up with the latest developments in supply chain and manufacturing execution, and by building a network of contacts and resources. By creating service propositions that are highly attractive to customers, you will contribute to the overall success of Philips Apptech, the Netherlands’ largest single group of industry consultants.

Requirements

  • Seasoned professional with Technical degree (or equivalent) and at least 15 years experience in several of the following areas: materials management, factory logistics, operations, manufacturing execution systems, (close to) shop-floor environments
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing methodologies and interactions / dependencies between development, manufacturing and supply chain, and the ability to apply
  • Strong networking (ideally bringing a network) and acquisitioning skills
  • Customer-focused, excellent communication skills
  • Project management and consultancy skills
  • Fluency in English and a willingness to travel
