Industry Consulting, a department within Philips Apptech, is a dynamic group of around 50 consultants who provide support in the areas of Business Engineering, Product Innovation and Industrial Engineering. The group’s Business Engineering capabilities include expertise in the fields of Supply Chain Management, Business Engineering, Financial Engineering, Outsourcing and Industrialization. Its customers are external international companies as well as internal Philips businesses.

The Business Engineering group is looking for a Consultant Supply Chain with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) expertise.

Job Description

As Consultant Supply Chain, you are responsible for generating profitable turnover through the acquisition of complex projects from internal and external customers, primarily in the manufacturing sector. You act as a sparring partner at managerial and shop-floor level, translating business needs and opportunities into specific solutions that bring true value to the customer. You assume responsibility for project management, project implementation, and the achievement of sustainable results. The challenges you’ll enjoy will be in the development of innovative business processes for manufacturing execution, including (among others) supply chain concepts, factory logistics, planning & control, scheduling, routing and shop-floor controls, as integral elements of business excellence in supply chain and shop-floor logistics. You will also play a vital role in expanding the Business Engineering group’s expertise by keeping up with the latest developments in supply chain and manufacturing execution, and by building a network of contacts and resources. By implementing service propositions that are highly attractive to customers, you will contribute to the overall success of Philips Apptech – the Netherlands’ largest single group of industry consultants.

Requirements

  • Technical degree or equivalent and at least 5 years experience in several of the following areas: materials management, factory logistics, operations, manufacturing execution systems, (close to) shop-floor environments 
  • Focus on determining requirements from a business perspective and understanding the impact of ME systems (profound system knowledge is not required) 
  • A broad affinity with IT (but not at programming levels) 
  • Project management and consultancy skills 
  • Fluency in English and a willingness to travel
